Privacy Policy — cerebro-backup

Last updated: 25 August 2026

cerebro-backup ("the application") is a private backup tool operated by MutinyLabs. It has a single user — the operator — who is also the owner of the Google account the application accesses. The application is not distributed, and no other person can use it.

Data the application accesses

The application requests the Google Drive scope https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive in order to create, update and delete files in the operator's own Google Drive. It uses this access solely to upload copies of files from the operator's own storage device and to keep those copies in step with the originals.

How data is used

File contents are transferred directly between privately owned hardware and Google's servers. They are not sent to, stored on, or processed by any third-party system, and they are not read by any person or system other than the operator.

Data sharing

The application does not sell, share, transfer or disclose Google user data to anyone. There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking components, and no third-party data processors. This website sets no cookies and collects no visitor data.

Data retention

The application stores an OAuth refresh token on privately owned hardware so that it can run unattended. No other Google user data is retained outside of Google Drive itself. Access can be revoked at any time from Google Account permissions, which immediately and permanently ends the application's access.

Limited Use

The application's use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
